BookMood is an ambient reading companion for Apple TV and Android TV, developed by Florian Schuster ("the developer"). This policy explains how BookMood handles your information. The short version: BookMood does not collect your personal data, and everything you create in the app stays on your device.

What BookMood stores

BookMood works without an account or sign-up. Your settings, favorite scenes, custom playlists, custom scenes, and Premium entitlement status are stored locally on your device using standard platform storage. None of this is uploaded to a server, and none of it is shared with the developer or any third party. All of the scenes themselves, images, music, and ambient sound, ship bundled with the app.

Purchases and subscriptions

BookMood offers an optional Premium upgrade (auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions, or a one-time lifetime purchase) processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your platform. Your payment details are handled directly by Apple or Google; the developer never sees or stores them. BookMood only stores which plan you own, so it can unlock Premium features, and re-checks this with the store on each launch. You can review or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings or your Google Play subscriptions.

What BookMood does not do

• No account or sign-up is required.
• BookMood does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.
• BookMood contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
• BookMood contains no crash reporting.
• BookMood does not request your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.

Network access

BookMood connects to the Apple App Store or Google Play solely to process purchases and verify your Premium entitlement, ordinary billing activity handled by Apple's and Google's own SDKs. Beyond that, BookMood works fully offline: every scene, image, music track, and ambient sound is bundled with the app itself.

Data deletion

Because your content lives only on your device, you remain in full control of it. Individual favorites, playlists, and custom scenes can be removed from within the app, and uninstalling BookMood removes all of its local data. Your purchase history remains with Apple or Google under their own account and retention policies, since the developer never holds it.

Children

BookMood does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, as it collects no personal data at all.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
