Terms of Use

Last updated 11 July 2026

These terms govern your use of BookMood, an ambient reading companion for Apple TV and Android TV developed by Florian Schuster ("the developer"). By downloading or using BookMood, you agree to these terms. If you installed BookMood through the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and takes precedence over any conflicting term below.

License

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use BookMood on devices you own or control, for personal use. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code, media, or assets of the app, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.

Subscriptions and purchases

BookMood's Premium upgrade is offered as:

Prices are shown in the app and in the App Store or Google Play listing at the time of purchase, and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account. A subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account will be charged for renewal within that 24-hour window. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings or your Google Play subscriptions; the developer cannot cancel or refund a purchase on your behalf. Payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google, the developer never receives or stores your payment details.

Your content

The favorites, playlists, and custom scenes you create in BookMood belong to you. They are stored on your device, and you are responsible for them. The developer has no access to this content and cannot recover it if it is lost or deleted, including after uninstalling the app.

Acceptable use

You agree to use BookMood only for lawful purposes, and not in any way that could damage, disable, impair the app, or circumvent its purchase or entitlement checks.

No warranty

BookMood is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of or inability to use BookMood.

Changes to the app and these terms

The developer may update, change, or discontinue BookMood, including its scene catalog and Premium offering, at any time. These terms may also be updated; the current version will always be posted on this page with the date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
